As many of you probably know, Faint Waves has never been strictly bound to genre, and it’s “sound” has stretched pretty far and wide. However, you might have also noticed that I started a new side project this year and that’s because I knew instantly that this was something else entirely and deserved a name and identity of its own, distinct from Faint Waves. I’m happy to officially introduce Unlimited Oceans, a Faint Waves offshoot with a unique sound and trajectory of its own.

After two singles, Unlimited Oceans makes its EP debut with Blue Impact — a four-tracker built on an ethereal rush of chilled melodics and fast paced drums, meticulous in its intensity. Though for all its driving grooves, the ambience and dreamy tonality of Blue Impact can't be overlooked, as it is key to the feel of the EP and the overall sound of Unlimited Oceans. Lush pads and atmospheres wax and wane as intense percussion frenetically propels each song into the next, making for an otherworldly experience. Unlike anything I’ve ever done and yet, almost a logical progression, an experiment in calculated chaos and the beauty therein.
